World Book Day 2024
World book day was a roaring success and is a shared We Are One event that is replicated across all the schools in the Trust. There were multiple activities taking place on both sites from scavenger hunts to a guess the teacher competition, a specialist lunch menu, assemblies, staff dressing up as characters, crosswords and within Year 7 & 8 English lessons a challenge to design a cartoon strip. The winning entry across the Trust will be made into a full book from a professional illustrator and cartoonist.
The real highlight of the day was a murder mystery investigation that was organised in both libraries to improve and develop students’ reading and comprehension skills.
There was a real buzz and an appetite amongst the students to take part.
Congratulations to those that selected Lucas as the killer. Prizes will be handed out to celebrate the winning detectives in due course.
