This Week in Steps!

Our learners have been exploring the different food groups, the energy they provide, and how each one contributes to a healthy, balanced diet. We’ve been discussing which foods we should enjoy often, and which ones are best eaten in smaller amounts.
To bring this learning to life, we carried out a fascinating experiment: burning different foods to measure how much energy they release.
In the photos and video, you’ll spot a shortbread biscuit being burned. This helped us see just how much fat and sugar can be hidden inside everyday snacks. The results definitely sparked some great conversations about making healthy choices.
