South Devon College’s Marine Academy is helping young women explore exciting opportunities in the maritime industry through its inspiring “Girls in Maritime” events. Aimed at students aged 11–16, these events are designed to challenge gender stereotypes and encourage more girls to consider marine careers.
Our students recently took part in a variety of hands-on activities, including marine wiring workshops, navigation and mapping challenges, time on the vessel simulator, and an on-the-water experience! The session offered a real insight into the industry and helped students to develop valuable practical skills!
