Year 9 netball team play in Central Venue League

The Year 9 team played their first netball match in the hub this academic year, alongside 13 other schools in the Central Venue League.

The team’s games were spread out across the evening, meaning there was lots of downtime in between matches but the girls remained in high spirits.

The girls defended well against Teignmouth, but fell victim to their height advantage; they went on to support each other well against Kingsbridge, who proved to be a strong side in both attack and defence; and finally the girls played Torquay Girls’ Grammar School (TGGS), whose experience was evident despite our girls being well disciplined and showing some great areas of play.

The results and ‘Players of the Match’ were as follows:

PCSA 4 – 7 TEIGNMOUTH
Player of the Match: Ellie Pedrick

PCSA 2 – 4 KINGSBRIDGE
Player of the Match: Sylvia Tippett

PCSA 2 – 20 TGGS
Player of the Match: Kaitlin Buswell

The results didn’t go our way but I am proud of all of the girls and how they conducted themselves during the tournament. We’ve identified lots of things to work on in training, ready to try again next time.
