The Year 8 boys football team overcame the odds by winning a very difficult semi-final against last year’s finalists Newton Abbot.
Kicking against an extremely strong wind, the PCSA team had to endure an incredible onslaught of continuous attacks. This was a test of the team’s ability to work together to hold off their opponents. Through excellent communication and organisation the team fully deserved to go into half time without conceding a goal.
Paignton showed true grit and determination to go on the attack early in the second half and scored a superb team goal through the scoring machine, Corey Madge.
The game remained close before Harry Atkinson sent over a free kick which found the ever impressive Alfie Lloyds, who showed terrific acrobatics to score a volley.
The whole team showed unbelievable character and team work to march on to the final.
Many congratulations to all involved.
