Year 7 Rugby – End of Season Awards

The Year 7 Rugby Team capped off a fantastic season with a trip to Torquay Boys Grammar School to play against their A and B team.  On a very wet pitch on a fresh afternoon it was delightful to see the boys had saved their best performances until the final game.  The B team showed tremendous spirit and a great attitude with so many players showing how much they had developed over the season.

The A team were in fine form; with good positional understanding, some fantastic rucking and excellent passing, they really troubled the Torquay Boys Team.  For the majority of the match the score was tied at 2 tries apiece, with phase after phase of attacking play unable to break down the opposition.  The match concluded with the home team scoring right at the end to cap off an enjoyable and well fought spectacle.

All schools will now move into the Football season but we hope the majority of the Year 7 players will spend time playing club Rugby at either Paignton, Brixham or Torquay Rugby Clubs as the more players that play club Rugby, the greater strength we will have next season.  Anyone who would like the contact details for Paignton Rugby Club, please see Mr Carpenter.

An end of season lunch was held after the final match and the players all voted for each other to win one of twelve awards.
