Year 7 rubgy boys at South Devon tournament

The Year 7 rugby boys were back in action at the South Devon Tournament held at Brixham College.

The boys showed admirable spirit despite losing both initial group games narrowly to Torquay Boys’ Grammar and Teignmouth, with Sonny Smith-Jones and Brandon Mair demonstrating strong ball carrying skills.

The second group stage was equally competitive and despite two more close defeats at the hands of KEVICC and Churston, the boys responded positively to draw against Coombeshead and rounded off the day in style with a hard-fought victory over Cuthbert Mayne.

The boys played with skill, courage and determination and made significant individual and team improvements throughout the day.

Try of the Day – Luis Szarpak with a superb solo effort v Coombeshead
Top Tackler – Brandon Mair who was the human equivalent of a brick wall in defence!
Other Try Scorers – Brandon Mair, Archie Waye, Sonny Smith-Jones

Well played boys – see you at training!
