Year 11s are “spot on” from 12 yards, as Kings “pay the penalty”

The Year 11 football team recovered from a staggering 4-0 early deficit to progress to the next round of the County Cup, after a penalty kick win against Kings School.

At the end of extra time the teams were level at 4-all, which meant that the game progressed on to the dreaded penalty shoot-out!  The team scored 4 penalties to Kings’ 2, earning them their place in the third round of the County Cup.  A remarkable turnaround considering that Paignton were down 4-0 after only 15 minutes of play!

Superb work from all the boys involved, with a special mention for goalkeeper, Josh Organ, as well as Cameron Walker, Jamie Hooper, Tommy Northcott-Watson, and Toby Nolan.

The team demonstrated the outstanding grit and determination needed to turn the game around, and will now be awaiting the third round to see where the challenge lies!

Well done boys!
