Miss Combes and two students from Year 10, Bethany Hitchen and Sophie Jessop, had the absolute privilege of taking part in a government funded programme to tour the battlefields and cemeteries from World War One.
Their itinerary saw them travel to Kent and on to France and Belgium for three packed days of experience and remembrance. They were astounded at the number of cemeteries and to be able to walk on the fields where the fighting took place and where debris still lies today.
To be able to pay respect to the number of different nationalities and leave crosses at the graves of  local Paignton soldiers was an absolute honour and one that they will never forget. Their project will continue on as part of Legacy 110 so that the meaning of remembrance will not be forgotten.
