Wickets at Wellington

The Academy’s Under 15 Cricket team, which included students from year 7,8,9 and 10, excelled at this prestigious fixture at the lovely surroundings at Wellington School.
Wellington batted first in the 16 overs per side game and amassed a really good score of 141 for 3. Charlie Ward and George Woodcock both took a wicket each with one run out.
In reply, Paignton batted superbly with Charlie Ward and Rory Medlock putting on just shy of a century for the first wicket. With great support from George Woodcock, the Paignton side finished their innings on 131-2, just ten runs short. Charlie ward scored 62 and Rory Medlock 30. Our team impressed the Director of cricket at Wellington school, Steffan Jones, a well renowned top coach and former county professional.
