The U13 girls’ rugby team played their third match of the year against Newton Abbot College; it was the first ever rugby match for three of our students. The girls produced some outstanding play, combining a great mix of experience, speed and strength which enabled them to work together as a team to apply pressure on their opponents.

Newton Abbot took an early lead with a storming run from their No. 3 over our try line. From then on we were evenly matched on the field with tries coming from great attacking runs on both sides.

I am exceptionally proud of all of the girls that played today; they worked extremely hard, played with smiles on their faces and were great ambassadors for the sport and for the Academy.

‘Player of the Match’ is shared by our newbies, Jenny Sinclair & Ella Grimshaw, who created spaces, commanded the ball and even got on the score sheet. Well done girls!

Final Score: PCSA 55 – 30 NA
