The Tempest

Storyteller, Katy Cawkwell, fascinated and beguiled students with her retelling of Shakespeare’s The Tempest.

All students in Year 7 watched the fantastic performance of the magical tale set on a remote island, where the sorcerer Prospero, a complex and contradictory character, lives with his daughter Miranda, and his two servants – Caliban, a savage monster figure, and Ariel, an airy spirit.

The play contained music and songs that evoked the spirit of enchantment on the island and explored many themes, including magic, betrayal, revenge, and family. The performance was enjoyed by all.
