It was racquets at the ready, and tennis balls everywhere, when 210 Key Stage 1 children visited Paignton Community and Sports Academy for an afternoon of tennis.

Seven primary schools took part in a wide range of tennis activities, including, tennis volleyball, tennis squash, footwork relays and racquet relays.

Year 7 and 8 sports leaders took charge, making sure that all of the children could take part and have fun, whilst learning and practising key skills required for tennis.  The leaders were great, encouraging and helping the children to have a go at all of the different stations.

At the end of the festival, Mr Julyan asked the children if they had learnt anything and was inundated with a whole host of brilliant answers from the children.

The Sports Hub was buzzing with a fantastic noise throughout, as the children engaged fully in all of the activities.

This was the first opportunity for many of the children to even hold a tennis racket, let alone take part in lots of tennis activities and games.
