Teamwork, Resilience and Problem Solving
Year 3 and 4 children from Oldway, Kings Ash and Preston primary schools took part in lots of different Outdoor and Adventurous activities at Paignton Academy last week.
Led by a team of Sports Leaders from the Academy, the children had to crack codes, create solutions to puzzles and work as a team to achieve a range of different tasks.
A key part of the National Curriculum Programme of Study for PE is to “take part in outdoor and adventurous activity challenges both individually and within a team”. The festival not only helped towards meeting this element of the National Curriculum requirements, but also gave the teachers lots of ideas to take away with them.
Mr Julyan, who organised the event was impressed with the children that took part.
“The activities that the children took part in have challenged them in lots of ways. They have shown great teamwork, resilience and problem solving skills, which has been great to see.”
