Royal Society of Science Whizz Bang Science Show

On 19th May Paignton Academy were lucky enough to have the Royal Institution of Great Britain in school for the Royal Society of Science Roadshow. Two shows were held during school time for year 7, where they were transported on a whistle stop tour through the uses of energy.
The whole day culminated in a community show, which was open to pupils/parents of year 9/10. This was a whistle stop tour through rocket Science which ended with the presenters and a volunteer from the audience setting off a butane rocket.
All the shows were fantastic and showcased our curriculum and how it can be transferred into the real world.
We hope to have them back next year and offer this opportunity to more parents/pupils.
