Humanities Super-Humans!

Over the past month the Humanities faculty have been really busy raising money for a local charity, Rowcroft Hospice, which supports adults living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon. The vast majority of their funding comes from the incredible generosity of our local community.

The charity event challenged the whole faculty to walk 3 million steps, walk 500 miles, cycle 500 miles and run 200 miles.

The challenge included organised group events, like the walk at Haldon Forest and the 35 mile round cycle trip of the Camel Trail in Cornwall. After a gruelling four weeks, the whole team managed to surpass all the targets and successfully completed all the challenges. There was a last minute run from one member to get us past the 200 miles of running!

The final results saw over 3.4 million steps completed, 857 walking miles achieved, 509 cycle miles accomplished and 214 running miles ran. The faculty have managed to raise around £500 for Rowcroft Hospice, which is an important charity for our local area and links to one of our core values of supporting the local community.
Well done team Humanities!
