History Trip – Battlefield Tours Programme
The History department are delighted to inform parents that we have a wonderful opportunity to take two Year 9 History students on a trip to tour the Battlefields in France and Belgium.
The trip is open to all current Year 9 students who will be studying History in GCSE at Year 10 here at PCSA.
The department have decided that the fairest way to choose students to attend the trip is through a competition that displays their passion and dedication to the subject. In order to compete for one of these exclusive places, entrants will complete an informative display piece of work that raises awareness of World War One. This must be submitted by the 20th February 2018. The shortlisted five students will then present their piece to members of SLT after school on the 28th February 2018.
Although the trip is funded by the Institute of Education, the Academy is incurring teacher costs and therefore the price of the trip will be £70 per student. The cost includes travel insurance policies, meals, accommodation and travel.
If your child is successful in winning a place, Miss Coombes, Trip Leader and History teacher, will contact you directly to organise a meeting to discuss further details. If you have any general queries relating to this trip, please do not hestiate to contact Miss Coombes by email on [email protected] stating FAO Battlefields trip.’
