National Trust’s regional staff and volunteer newsletter featured an article about Chelsea Taylor, one of our Year 11 prefects. Chelsea started volunteering for them at Greenway as part of her Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award and since becoming a volunteer, has grown in confidence. In the article Chelsea spoke about her experiences as volunteer at Greenway, and the impact it has had on her life:‘It really boosted my confidence. I was very shy and I wouldn’t have been able to talk to strangers!’ says Chelsea. ‘I think it’s definitely helped with the social side and speaking in front of people, which I’ve never done before. It was very scary. I did my oral exam in English, which I would not have been able to do and I actually did it on Greenway, so my GCSE English is Greenway House!’
