Ball To Hand

The first of three primary handball festivals took place at Paignton last Thursday.  The Hub was transformed in eight handball pitches, where six schools battled it out in this skilful tactical team game.

The rain and wind tried its best to prevent schools attending, but the majority of the cluster primary schools managed to find a way through, enabling 180 children from Years 3 and 4 to compete in exciting games.

For many, it was their first experience of playing handball, but with support from Paignton Academy’s team of sports leaders, they all picked it up really quickly.   There were lots of goals, good team play and some individual moments of the highest quality.

We look forward to welcoming children from Years 5 and 6 for the next instalment on the 23rd January.
