As the sun shone, pupils at Paignton Community and Sports Academy enjoyed a wealth of sessions during Activities Week. Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 took part, with over 1,000 pupils and staff engaging in 102 activities over 5 days.  Students learnt to fish, ski, snowboard, race in a Grand Prix and even how to make a leather bag!  As if that wasn’t enough, there were trips to Woodlands, Crealy, Plymouth Cruise and Aquarium, ClipnClimb in Exeter, Mount Hawke near Newquay, Grenville House in Brixham, Quay west and Paignton Zoo.  The Wet’n’Wild students had a go at coasteering, stand up paddle boarding, the ‘Leap of Faith’ on the high ropes and abseiling.

Others took a more leisurely approach enjoying the bubbles of Aztec Spa and the gentle wash of the swimming pool.  Fantastic sand sculptures were made at the beach while others enjoyed a leisurely coastal walk.  The more adventurous took part in Battlefield Live and “footgolf.”

In the Academy, pupils worked on a wonderful production of Matilda and a science lab became CSI Paignton investigating a break-in.  There were energetic football and Hubtastic sessions run by the PE department and our musical students had the chance to attend Rock School.  There were also jewellery making, Masterchef and first aid courses on offer.

Activities Week was once again a huge success and we thank all of you for taking part and enjoying the mass of sessions that we had on offer.
