On Friday 22nd June 7P3 English held a bake sale to raise funds to adopt a pangolin. The students have become fascinated with these creatures after reading about them when examining nonfiction texts. We sold a huge number of cakes and raffled off a pangolin cake!
Pangolins are the most trafficked mammal in the world as their scales are often used in traditional medicines, their meat is considered a delicacy and their blood is used for healing tonics.
7P3 managed to raise enough money to adopt not one but three pangolins from the David Shepherd Wildlife foundation.
A huge thank you to those students and parents who donated cakes to be sold and also to those who ate them!
