On Friday, 24th March, the Year 9 Sports Literacy Group were given the unique opportunity of interviewing some of the ESFA’s finest footballing talent.
Having already impressed with their fine questioning skills while at Breeze FM, the group showcased their talents further by asking a series of sport and literacy related questions to the England U18 schoolboys team, as they set upon developing their research for their first assessment task.
The elite young footballers were amazed with the quality of questions that the students quizzed them with, and the feedback that they provided allowed an interesting insight into the day to day schedules of a student in this prestigious kind of position. It certainly provided our pupils with a bit of inspiration as well!
Having demonstrated their own skills in the Q and A session, the students then got to witness the England U18 school boys showcase their talents, as they competed against their Northern Irish counterparts in their Schoolboy International fixture held at Torquay United’s Plainmoor stadium.
Despite a disappointing 4-1 score line in favour of the superior Irish team, the students were able to reflect on another fantastic experience that had been presented to them through the Sky Sports programme, which continues to go from strength and strength.
