February’s Fantastic Festival for Primaries
By Joe Ruocco and Karis Simpson Stroud
The outdoor education festival was held in the hub on the 1st February 2018 for Year 5 and 6 children. Seven schools attended the festival: Hayes, Preston, Roselands, Kings Ash, Sacred Heart, Collaton St Mary and Stoke Gabriel.
Seven different activities were set out for the children to clamber their way through. They were: Alphabet Hunt, Guiding to Safety, Magic Spell, Team Bench, Teamwork Relay, Code Breaker and Archery.
A great sense of happiness ran throughout the Hub during this time with a lot of sports leaders motivating the children very well! Suranne, one of the sports leaders, said “This is a great idea! It will help the children with their future!”
The sports leaders who were running the event were excellent and were very motivational helping the children! The children thought that it was great and they would love to come again!
Teachers from Kings Ash said that it is really good to see the children getting involved and it is great to see the kids interacting with the students from PCSA!
Bibi from Preston said “It is very fun! My favourite activity was the relay as I got to help my friends win the race!” Tia from Preston said “Great fun and helped me with what school I would like to go to!”
There was an all-round great atmosphere in the Hub today! Everyone had great fun and it helped all of the children build on their confidence!
