Plymouth Argyle F.C. 6th Form Sport

The Plymouth Argyle 6th Form Sport Programmes delivered at Paignton Community & Sports Academy are some of the fastest growing and most exciting Post-16 courses around.  The course allows students to study A-Level equivalent qualifications whilst training and playing regularly as a Plymouth Argyle Development Squad Player.  Alongside their study students will train three times a week and in addition have a minimum of 1 match per week in the British Colleges’ League and cup competitions.

Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport

This 3 A-Level equivalent 2 year course will provide you with an in depth understanding of a broad range of sport specialisms, as well as the practical skills to apply them in the sport sector or progress to higher level education at University level study.

You will be taught through practical sessions, group and individual work, lessons and research. You will be supported to gain a work experience placement in the Sport Industry as an essential part of preparing you for employment.  You will study all subjects onsite at Paignton Community & Sports Academy with our subject specialist 6th Form Sport Tutors.  Through your study you will have full access to our exceptional sport facilities to compliment your studies and football experiences.

After completing this course, you could progress to University level study in a wide plethora of subjects for example:

Level 2 BTEC Technical: Sport and Activity Leaders

 

This specialist sport and leadership Level 2 course is studied over 1 year and is designed as a Level 2 for post-16 learners.  The qualification will provide you with an in-depth understanding of a broad range of sport and leadership specialisms, as well as the practical skills to apply them.  The course is ideal for the learner who aspires to gain an extensive knowledge in sport coaching and leadership.

You will be taught through practical sessions, group and individual work, lessons and research.  You will be supported to gain a work experience placement in the sport Industry as an essential part of preparing you for employment.  You will study all subjects at onsite at Paignton Community & Sports Academy with our subject specialist 6th Form Sport Tutors.  Through your study you will have full access to our exceptional sport facilities to compliment your studies and football experiences.

After completing the level 2 course learners will be able to progress and study at Level 3 or above or use the qualification to apply for sport based apprenticeships and employment within the sport industry.
